Mentalium is a voice CBT diary with on-device AI transcription. Press record, speak the five steps of a CBT thought record — situation, automatic thought, emotion, reaction, alternative — and the AI on your phone fills the diary for you. No typing, no cloud, no analytics on what you said. Rate anxiety before and after each entry; charts show the curve going down. Excel report to your therapist in one tap. Free 7-day trial, then $4.99/wk or $29.99/yr. iPhone and Android.

Features

- Voice input through the 5-step CBT thought record (situation → automatic thought → emotion → reaction → alternative)

- On-device AI transcription, ~180 MB downloaded once, fully offline after that

- 1–10 anxiety scale before and after each entry

- Progress charts: entry count and anxiety curve over time

- Cognitive-distortion analysis across 10 patterns (catastrophizing, mind-reading, all-or-nothing, etc.) in 7 languages

- Excel report for your therapist for any period (7 / 30 / 90 days / all-time)

- 7 languages: English, Russian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian

- Local-only data, no cloud sync, no third-party analytics on diary content

Use Cases

- Capture an anxiety spike the moment it happens (in the car, at work, after a hard conversation), not two hours before therapy from memory

- Practice CBT homework between therapist sessions without the friction of typing

- Self-help for anxiety, depression, OCD, panic disorder, social anxiety, PTSD, insomnia

- ADHD: voice input removes the "I'll do it later" barrier to writing things down

- Privacy-first journaling — voice never leaves the phone, no cloud sync

Hi guys, I built Mentalium because every CBT diary I tried failed the same test. Type a thought record in the middle of an anxiety spike? Impossible. So you do it two hours before therapy, from memory, and the diary loses most of its point. I went through CBT myself for anxiety and depression. The five-step thought record is what makes CBT actually work — and it's also what nobody manages to fill in. Voice was the obvious answer. On-device AI was the missing piece (nobody wants their worst nights training someone else's model). Mentalium: press record, speak the five steps, the AI on your phone writes the diary. Local-only. Excel report to your therapist in one tap. Free 7-day trial. This is launch week for me. Would love your feedback — especially on the "in the moment, not 2h before therapy" framing. Is it clear from the landing page? And what's the part that feels off when you actually try it? — Pavel
