Use Cases

  • Adults rebuilding mental arithmetic — learn the trick, then drill it (~70% of onboarding completions are the adult audience).
  • Students (K–7) practising the exact strand they're stuck on: counting, times tables, fractions, pre-algebra.
  • Parents who want a 5-minute daily habit instead of a worksheet fight.
  • Teachers using the library as topic-targeted warm-ups.
  • Groups & families running quick head-to-head duels.

Comments

Hey, MathIt started as something else entirely: a real-time multiplayer math duel game. Race a friend, 30-second rounds, fastest answer wins. That part worked - people played it. What surprised me was who showed up. When we added an onboarding questionnaire and actually looked at the answers, ~70% of people completing it were adults. Who wanted their mental arithmetic back - the ones who reach for their phone to split a restaurant bill and quietly hate that they do. They weren't there for the duel but were there to get better. So we rebuilt the app around that. The default screen is no longer a lobby - it's a daily plan of 5 things, picked for your said you're stuck on. We added 29 mental-math technique lessons (×9, ×11, ×25, halve & double - the tricks nobody teaches you in school), 12 families of logic 113 games covering K through 7. Difficulty adapts: it levels up when you're fast and backs off when you're not, so you never get the "too easy / too hard" whi Multiplayer is still in there. It just moved from the promise to the bonus. It's free, works offline for everything solo, and speaks 20 languages. I'd genuinely love to hear: what's the one math thing you wish you were still good at? That question has driven basically every feature in the app so far, and I'm still collecting answers.
