Interview Prep.io is an interactive, voice-based AI mock interview trainer that helps candidates prepare for real-world job interviews. It acts like a live hiring manager by transcribing spoken responses, evaluating communication structure, and writing candid feedback reports. It allows users to upload a custom job description and resume to simulate targeted interviews for 50+ top companies.

Hey everyone, Elvis here! I built Interview Prep.io because I was tired of the black box that is the modern job interview. We’ve all been there: you finish a final round feeling confident, get a rejection email a week later, and receive absolutely zero constructive feedback other than "we decided to move forward with other candidates." You never get to find out what the interviewer actually wrote in their notes when you started rambling. I wanted to create a tool that acts like an honest, unfiltered coach. With Interview Prep.io, we focus on three main things: Voice-first practice: Actually speaking your answers out loud under time constraints is completely different from writing notes. STAR-method color coding: Our parser breaks down your spoken answers so you can visually see if you missed the Situation, Task, Action, or Result. Interviewer's Secret Notes: Generates the raw, candid feedback an evaluator would write on their pad but would never say to your face. We’ve also built out comprehensive Company Guides (like Amazon's Leadership Principles) and dedicated Internship Hubs to help students and graduates break into competitive roles. I’d love to get your feedback! Specifically: How did the mic transcription feel for you? Did the "Secret Notes" feel accurate, or too harsh/gentle? What features or company guides would you like to see next? Thanks for checking it out! 🚀
I had the opportunity to explore Interview-prep.io, and it's a well-designed platform for anyone preparing for interviews. The interface is clean, the onboarding is straightforward, and the content is organized in a way that makes it easy to focus on improving interview skills. I particularly liked how the platform helps users practice in a structured and efficient manner. A few additional customization options and more personalized feedback could make the experience even stronger, but the current offering already provides great value. Overall, Interview-prep.io is a promising tool that can help job seekers prepare with more confidence. Wishing the team a successful launch!
The interview anxiety problem is real. Most candidates prepare by reading articles and practicing with friends who can't give structured feedback, then go into real interviews with zero calibration to how hiring managers actually score answers. Interview-prep.io removes that gap by letting candidates practice with AI that mimics real interviewer behavior and scores using the exact STAR framework hiring managers use. The transcription and structured feedback means candidates see exactly where their answers deviate from what lands well with top companies. For students especially who don't have access to professional coaches, getting hundreds of realistic interview reps with real-time scoring before the high-stakes ones completely changes the game. The company-specific interview guides also mean preparation becomes targeted instead of generic, which directly converts to better outcomes.
The "Interviewer's Secret Notes" feature is a great angle. Everyone gets the generic rejection email, almost nobody gets to see what the interviewer actually wrote, so simulating that feedback loop is genuinely useful. I'm building in the career space too and one thing I keep seeing is that people fail interviews not for lack of skill but because they can't recall their own achievements with specifics. Question: does it support practicing in languages other than English? Thinking of non-native candidates interviewing for international companies.
Interview-prep.io has great potential! A few improvements could make it even better. I'd love to share my feedback and suggestions. Email: [email protected]
