Features

  • Grade your whole network by closeness - four tiers, each with its own stay-in-touch rhythm. Set it once; Assay does the counting.
  • Swipe-grade on your phone - sort hundreds of contacts in one sitting, one card at a time.
  • A weekly nudge that names names - see exactly who you're due to reconnect with, and who's quietly slipping away, instead of a dashboard you have to interrogate.
  • Check-ins drafted from your real history - every call, coffee and note you've logged feeds the draft, so it opens with something real rather than "just checking in".
  • In your voice, not an AI's - set tone, length and greeting style once; drafts come out sounding like you wrote them and learns as you send them.
  • Nothing forgotten - log an interaction in seconds and it's there for the next check-in, years later.
  • Start from what you already have - import by CSV, or connect Gmail and let Assay find the people you actually email.
  • Weekly retro - a digest of what you sent and what came back, which sharpens your templates over time.
  • Reads your notes for you - drop in meeting notes, screenshots or a LinkedIn export and Assay extracts the details onto the right contacts.
  • HubSpot sync - for people who already keep a CRM at work.

Use Cases

  • Consultants and freelancers - keep past clients warm so repeat work arrives before the pipeline runs dry.
  • Founders - stay in front of the investors, advisors and operators you'll need six months before you need them.
  • Anyone job-hunting - reactivate a network before you have to ask it for something.
  • After a job change - the 500 people you worked with are now the 500 people you're about to lose touch with.
  • Post-conference follow-up - turn a stack of badges into people you actually speak to again.
  • Just being a better friend - the people who got you here, remembered on purpose rather than with a pang of guilt.

The job search use case is where this really hits different. When you're between roles and actually need your network, it's brutal realizing you haven't had a real conversation with 80% of people who could actually help. Most tools try to fix this after the fact, but Assay's proactive reminders shift you from guilt-driven "I should reach out" to actually staying connected before the urgency hits.

Hi Fazier 👋 I'm Ben - independent consultant, and Assay came out of my own problem. Every good thing that's happened in my career came through someone I already knew. And yet the way I kept in touch with those people was: remember at 11pm, feel guilty, do nothing. Hundreds of relationships I genuinely valued, decaying silently because I had no system. Every CRM I tried was built for closing deals, not for keeping people. I just wanted to know who I was losing touch with. So Assay does three things: - Sort - grade your contacts by how close they actually are, on your phone, in one sitting. Each tier sets its own stay-in-touch rhythm. - Reconnect - a weekly nudge shows who's due. Assay drafts the check-in from your real history, in your voice. You edit and send, or just log the call. - Remember - every coffee, call and note is logged, so the next check-in already knows. There are no open rates and no reply-rate leaderboards. The only metric that matters is whether the people you care about are still in your life. I'd genuinely love to know: what do you use today to keep track of people? Notebook, spreadsheet, memory, another CRM? That answer decides what I build next. I'm here all day.
