Features

- Find any movie from any description.

- One screenshot. One title. Instant answer.

- From a scene to the full story.

- Don’t remember the title? Start with the image.

- Every memorable movie moment deserves a name.

Use Cases

WhatIsThisMovie is built for a common problem: you remember a scene, but you can’t remember the movie title.

Our platform makes movie search faster and easier by combining visual clues and rich metadata. Users can start with a screenshot or a short scene description, then quickly discover matching films and complete details, including posters, release dates, genres, ratings, and cast information.

Beyond identification, the website also supports movie exploration. After finding one film, users can continue browsing similar titles by genre, year, popularity, and region, making the experience useful for both quick lookups and long-form discovery.

Whether you are a movie fan, a content creator, or a casual viewer, What Is This Movie helps turn “I’ve seen this before” into “Now I know exactly what it is.”

solid premise. screenshot to title is the natural query for most people, way more intuitive than typing half-remembered plot keywords. one suggestion: a 'i remember a scene where X happened' search would slot into the same workflow and probably catch a lot of the queries that fail when there's no still to upload. good luck with the launch

Sounds really useful

love this idea, like to use it

This actually solves a real pain for me 😅 I’ve had so many moments seeing a random scene and having no idea what movie it’s from. Being able to search by screenshot or vague clues is super useful.

Strong concept and clear use case, but it feels generic and needs sharper differentiation and a more compelling hook to stand out.

Love this idea — I've spent way too long trying to remember movie titles from vague descriptions. Quick question: does it handle descriptions in languages other than English? That would be a huge differentiator for non-English speakers.
