What I Wish

Hi, I am Nahuel, the maker. I built What I Wish because every birthday in my family ended with two people bringing the same gift. The rule that shaped the product: the guest reserves without creating an account, and the owner never sees who reserved what. It is free, works in Spanish, English and Portuguese, and I am happy to answer anything about how it is built.

"No account needed" is the right call — half of my relatives would never sign up for anything. How do you stop two people reserving the same gift at the same time, and can the list owner stay unaware of what was reserved?

If a friend reserves a gift and then can't buy it after all, how do they release it without an account? I'm curious whether the reservation is tied to their device, or whether the list owner has to step in, which would spoil the part where they never see who reserved what.

What does a private list protect against: search engines finding it, or anyone without an invitation opening it? Putting that explanation next to the share button would help, especially when a link gets forwarded beyond the original guest list.

Love the “no account needed” decision, it removes the biggest friction for guests. Do you plan to support group gifts, where a few people split the cost of one bigger item? Great work, Nahuel!
