Hey everyone 👋 I'm Rayan, founder of WellVersed. This one's personal. I grew up reciting the Qur'an in Arabic, like most of us do, but for years I couldn't tell you what most of the words actually meant. I could read it fluently and understand almost none of it. That gap always bothered me. So I built the app I wished existed: it teaches you the meaning of the words you're already reciting, word by word, with real verses (not made-up example sentences) and both English and Urdu translations side by side, since a lot of us grew up learning Islam in Urdu but also think in English day to day. One thing that shaped the product a lot: early testers kept telling me they'd open the app hoping to find words from a specific surah they were memorizing or about to recite in prayer, like Surah Yaseen, and couldn't find them under the general themes. So I added a whole surah-based track alongside the theme-based one, and I'm still expanding surah coverage every week based on what people ask for. I built this solo, coding, sourcing and verifying every single word/translation/verse citation, design, the whole submission process, while working full-time. Every word in the app is checked against the Qur'anic Arabic Corpus and Sahih International before it goes in, nothing invented. Would genuinely love feedback, especially from anyone who's tried to learn Qur'anic Arabic vocabulary before and can tell me what didn't work for them elsewhere.
