Managing short-form video publishing across multiple social platforms (TikTok Studio, YouTube Shorts, Meta Reels) is either tedious manual work or costs $40+/month with strict API quotas and rate limits. UpTik is a 100% free and open-source desktop studio built with Go, Wails v2, and Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP). It runs locally on your machine, leveraging your actual residential IP and existing browser sessions. No monthly subscriptions, no proxy tracking, and total privacy for your account credentials. The local-first approach is a smart angle — keeping auth tokens on-device instead of routing through a cloud service removes a real privacy concern for creators. The SQLite outbox with retry logic also sounds like it would handle flaky connections well.

Really like the idea of having one place to schedule Shorts, TikToks, and Reels without another monthly subscription. The local-first approach is a nice bonus too. Using Go, Wails v2, and Chrome DevTools Protocol to bypass API restrictions and keep tokens local is a really clever engineering choice. Great job on prioritizing creator privacy!

Running uploads through your own logged-in Chrome session with a SQLite outbox and retry logic is a sensible trade-off for keeping credentials local. How do you handle it when TikTok Studio's UI changes and the CDP selectors break?

Love the local-first approach — no proxy tracking and no subscription is a real differentiator for small creators. Curious about one thing: since uploads go through the Chrome DevTools Protocol, how do you handle it when TikTok or Meta change their upload UI? Do you ship selector updates quickly, or is there a fallback so a scheduled post doesn't silently fail? A notification on failed uploads would make me trust it with a real schedule.

Worth a look if you work with TikTok content day to day — a focused single-purpose tool is exactly what this category needs. Quick, no-frills, does the job.
