We built SVGicons.com to make it easier for developers and designers to discover open-source SVG icons while keeping the original source, author, license, and attribution information visible. The goal is to make icon search practical without losing the context needed to use each icon responsibly. Does search match aliases or only the icon's own name? Half my searches use the wrong word (bin vs trash, cog vs gear) and that's usually where icon search falls apart for me.

This looks super useful. One thing that would make it even better for me is aliases. Right now, I often only find the icon I want if I already know the exact name. If I don’t know whether it’s called “trash” vs “bin” or “cog” vs “gear”, search becomes much harder. Would it be possible to support a few aliases / alternative keywords per SVG icon, so it’s easier to discover icons even when we don’t know the precise term?

It have a huge number of icons and all are very useful. But license are not always suitable for use freely.
