Strew: Home education that documents itself

Home education rarely fits neatly into lesson plans and worksheets. Learning happens through conversations, projects, books, days out, experiments and everyday life. Strew helps parents capture it all without turning home education into an admin job.

Simply log what your child has been doing and Strew helps uncover the learning within it, identifying concepts, skills and learning outcomes as your record grows.

Instead of scrambling to reconstruct months of learning when you need a report, Strew builds a rich picture over time. When the time comes, you can turn those records into a clear, professional PDF report in minutes.

It’s a simple home for your family’s learning` built for home educators who want better records, with less paperwork.

Congrats on shipping this. Super useful that the report is already there when you need it, instead of reconstructing months of trips and books. If you later want AI on another project, discounted rates are at pzero.studio.

UK-specific is the right call - most home-education tools assume a US curriculum and leave UK families translating everything. Reporting confidence is a real pain point that planners alone don't solve. Good luck with the launch!

The photo & evidence tracking plus multi-child records is the part that stands out to me - most home-ed tools make you keep a separate log per child and then you're stuck stitching it all together at reporting time. Building the report out of everyday logged activities rather than pre-planned lessons fits how unschooling actually works. Does the AI learning-outcome tagging map to specific UK frameworks, or is it more general concepts and skills?

The framing of logging everyday activities first and letting the app surface the learning afterwards is much closer to how home ed actually happens than lesson-plan tools. Photo/evidence capture plus per-child records also solves the messy part: assembling a report months later. One question: can the PDF report be filtered to a date range and a single learning area, so a parent can hand a local authority exactly what was asked for and nothing else?

Logging first and letting the app surface the learning afterward feels much more true to how home ed actually works than trying to force it into a lesson-plan mold upfront. The multi-child support paired with photo evidence is a nice touch too — most families juggling siblings end up with scattered notes across notebooks and photo rolls, so having it consolidated per child would save a lot of headache at reporting time. Good luck with the launch!

Strew Home Education App Your product has strong potential, but I found a few key improvements that could make it even better. I'd love to share my feedback and suggestions—please contact me at [email protected].

The compliance PDF angle is smart, that's the part parents dread. Does the AI tagging map to a specific curriculum, or is it more general learning outcomes?
