Stint

Sit · micro-move · stand — not a focus timer.

Visit

Stint is a calm desk companion for adjustable sit/stand desks. It guides long sit and stand blocks with an optional ~15-second micro-move when you switch the desk — then gets out of the way. Soft cues, minimal UI, built for a second monitor. Local PWA: no account, no cloud, no streaks.

Features

  • Long sit/stand blocks instead of Pomodoro-style sprints
  • Optional micro-moves (~15s) at each desk switch
  • Soft sound and notification cues — no alarm energy
  • Minimal UI made for a second-monitor presence
  • Installable PWA with Freeze for calls and interruptions
  • Local-only: no account, no cloud, LocalStorage only
  • Adjustable intervals and optional German body cues for moments
  • Gentle nudges when it’s time to switch — a small kick, not an alarm

Use Cases

  • Keep a calm sit/stand rhythm on deep-work days without watching the clock
  • Park Stint on a second monitor as quiet desk presence next to your work
  • Soft reminders to raise or lower an adjustable desk after long sitting or standing
  • Optional ~15s micro-moves at each desk switch — body maintenance, not a workout
  • Freeze the loop during calls or interruptions, then continue without restarting
  • Replace shouty posture apps and Pomodoro timers with something that stays out of the way
  • Local-only desk habit for remote/hybrid setups — no account, no cloud, install as PWA
  • Helps you act on habits you already believe in, without guilt or streaks

I built Stint because I already knew sit/stand switching was good for me — and still sat through whole afternoons anyway. What I needed wasn’t another focus timer or a fitness coach. I needed a quiet nudge on the second monitor: raise the desk, optional ~15s micro-move, then get out of the way. Stint is that small kick — soft cues, long blocks, no streaks, no account, no cloud. Body maintenance at the desk, not productivity theater.
