Spot the Cue

Practice reading tone, body language and subtext

Visit

Spot the Cue is practice for the social signals people miss: sarcasm, a soft no, a forced smile, who's being left out, the kind of pressure that doesn't announce itself.

Each rep shows a real moment (a photo, a short clip, a text thread or a line of dialogue), asks for your read, and explains the cue in a sentence or two: what it usually means, when it doesn't, and what to do next. Ten reps take about three minutes, and levels get subtler as you improve. Often more than one read is defensible, and the app says so instead of pretending there's one right answer.

Free to start: Level 1 of all seven skills, two quick tests and a tone checker, with no account and no ads. Full access is $19.99 once, not a subscription. Works in any browser and on iPhone, with separate modes for teens and adults.

Hi! I'm Justin, and I made Spot the Cue. It started with a family member who finds social situations hard to read. The advice they kept getting was "just pay attention," which isn't something you can actually practice. So I built a place to get reps: a real moment, your read of it, and a short note on why. A few things I cared about: - No single "gotcha" answer. Often more than one read is reasonable, and the feedback says so. - Free to start with no account and no ads. Level 1 of every skill is free forever. - One-time $19.99 for the rest. No subscription. I'd love feedback on two things: does the concept land for you, and do the scenarios feel realistic? If one feels off or unfair, that's exactly what I want to hear.
