Reversed with AI

Directory of reverse engineering projects done with AI

Visit

Reversed with AI collects public projects where models like Claude, Codex and Gemini did real reverse engineering work: game decompilations, firmware, file formats, Android apps and old software ports. Each entry links to the original repo or write-up and records the model, the tools, the time, the cost, where the human stepped in, and what evidence is public. It also has a State of AI reverse engineering report and a guide to which model to try for which task.

Features

  • Hundreds of AI reverse engineering projects, each linked to its original repo or write-up
  • Model, tools, time and cost recorded as the author reported them
  • Where the human had to step in, and what the AI got wrong
  • Reproducibility checks: source available, build steps, real hardware, independent verification
  • Hubs for games, firmware, Android apps, file formats and tools like Ghidra MCP
  • Model leaderboard and a State of AI reverse engineering report

Use Cases

  • See whether AI can decompile a game, decode firmware or reverse an app before you start
  • Pick a model and toolchain based on what worked in real projects
  • Find prior work on a target, with links to the source
  • Compare how much human effort AI-assisted reversing still takes
  • Get your own AI reverse engineering project listed

Comments

Hi Fazier! I built Reversed with AI because I kept seeing people use Claude, Codex and Gemini to decompile games, decode firmware and reverse apps, but the posts rarely said what it actually took. So each entry records the model, the tools, the time and cost the author reported, where the human had to step in, and what evidence is public. There's also a State of AI reverse engineering report on what the data shows so far. If you've done an AI-assisted reverse engineering project, I'd love to list it. Feedback welcome.
