Prisma Postgres

50 free postgres databases, one for every idea.

Visit

Prisma Postgres is fully managed, standard PostgreSQL built for modern apps and AI agents. It works with any ORM, query builder or Postgres client.

You can create a database in seconds from the Console, from the CLI with npx create-db, or straight from your coding agent through the MCP server.

Pricing is simple and based on operations, and the free plan is generous: 2 GB storage, 200k operations a month and up to 50 databases, with no credit card needed. Pair it with Prisma Compute to run your app and database on one platform.

Hey Fazier 👋 I work at Prisma, and we built Prisma Postgres because spinning up a database for every new idea shouldn't cost money or take a setup afternoon. You get a database in seconds, and an AI agent can create one with a single prompt. The free plan gives you 50 databases and 2 GB of storage, with no card needed. Paid plans start at $10 a month. Fazier offer: if you move a database over 10 GB to Prisma Postgres, we'll give you the Business plan free for 6 months. That includes 100 GB storage, 50M operations a month and 30-day backups. To claim it, email me directly at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) and I'll set it up. We'd love your honest feedback, good or bad. Martin Prisma

The MCP server angle is the standout here — letting a coding agent provision its own database removes the biggest friction point in AI-assisted development. I've watched agents stall out trying to get credentials for hosted DBs. Two questions: does `npx create-db` support non-interactive flags for CI pipelines, and is there a Terraform/pulumi provider for the 50-database use case? The per-operation pricing is refreshingly honest compared to the usual 'contact sales' wall.

Up to 50 free databases with zero cold starts makes a separate database per preview branch realistic, instead of every branch sharing one staging DB. Per-operation pricing is also easier to reason about than compute hours for side projects that sit idle most of the day.

The free tier's 200k operations a month is the number I'd want to understand before pointing a serverless app at it. How is an operation counted, for example does each query in a pooled connection or a retried request count separately, and does an idle database use any operations?
