PawsFree

A veterinary AI scribe that records the visit, pulls in labs

Visit

PawsFree is an AI scribe built only for veterinary medicine. A veterinarian records the visit on an iPhone, an Android phone, or in the browser, and PawsFree produces a finished note in the clinic's own format.

What separates it from a general-purpose medical scribe is where the note ends up and what goes into it. PawsFree does not ask a practice to migrate or adopt a second system. A Chrome extension opens a charting sidebar beside the record in cloud practice management systems such as ezyVet and Shepherd, and overlays desktop systems such as Cornerstone and AVImark, then writes the completed note into the field the doctor is already editing.

It also assembles the rest of the visit automatically. Connected diagnostics are pulled into the draft alongside the recording: chemistry and CBC panels, radiographs and imaging reports through our supported integrations. The result is one view instead of copying between tabs.

The model is veterinary-native rather than a human-medicine scribe adapted for animals, so species, breed, signalment and species-specific normals are handled directly, which reduces editing.

Templates are clinic-controlled. SOAP, canine dental, discharge notes written for owners, recheck and progress notes, and timed anaesthesia records all ship as starting points, and every heading can be renamed, reordered or removed. A clinic sets its format once for the whole team.

Features

  • Writes the finished note directly into your veterinary practice management software, into the field you are already editing. No copy and paste, no second system.
  • Chrome extension opens a charting sidebar beside the record in cloud PIMS such as ezyVet and Shepherd, and overlays desktop systems such as Cornerstone and AVImark.
  • iPhone and Android apps record the visit from the exam room, the farm call or the back of a truck.
  • Pulls chemistry and CBC results and radiograph reports into the draft automatically on supported integrations
  • Veterinary-native model that handles species, breed, signalment and species-specific normals directly, rather than a human-medicine scribe adapted for animals.
  • Customizable templates: SOAP plus physical, canine dental, discharge notes written for owners, recheck and progress notes, and timed anaesthesia records.
  • Rename, reorder or remove any section, then set the clinic default once for the whole team.

Use Cases

  • Routine wellness and sick visits, where the SOAP note is finished before the doctor leaves the room.
  • Emergency and urgent care, where labs and radiographs land in the note as they come back rather than being retyped later.
  • Mobile and house call practice, recording on a phone between driveways with no laptop.
  • Dental procedures, using a canine dental template with chart and findings.
  • Recheck and progress visits, where the short-form note references the prior record automatically.
  • Discharge instructions written for the owner in plain language from the same visit.
  • Clearing the after-hours charting backlog, which is the reason most practices look at a scribe in the first place.
  • Standardizing documentation across a multi-doctor team or multi-site group, so every record follows the same format for medical-record compliance and referral handoff.
