Pantry Roulette is a free, constraint-based recipe finder built for real world kitchens. Most recipe apps assume you have everything, Pantry Roulette starts with what you actually have. Enter your ingredients, pick a vibe, and it finds the best meal it can from your real world constraints. No sign up, no ads, no perfectly stocked pantry required.

Hey Fazier community! 👋 I built Pantry Roulette because my wife and I kept hitting the same wall every night, we'd open the fridge, see a handful of random ingredients, and have absolutely no idea what to make. Every recipe app we tried assumed a perfectly stocked pantry and a full grocery budget to match. So I built something that works the other way around. Tell it what you actually have, pick a mood, and it finds the best recipe it can from your real world constraints. It queries a live recipe database for every ingredient simultaneously, scores results by how well they match your ingredients AND your chosen vibe, and filters out things you've already seen so you always get something fresh. Since launching we've already shipped v1.0.1 adding a print recipe button and a recently viewed section; and there's a lot more coming in v1.1.0. It's completely free, no sign up required, and works on any device. Would love feedback from the community! Especially around the vibe matching and whether the suggestions feel relevant to you! 👉 pantryroulette.com
Pantry Roulette has great potential and offers some useful features, but I encountered a few issues that could be improved. Nice angle. The "start with what you have" framing is way more useful than the standard recipe app approach. Curious about the diversity filter; does it reset after you've seen everything in the pool, or does it keep pushing older recipes back after some time? That's usually where these things get stale for repeat users.
Does the vibe matching learn from what I pick over time, or is it fixed for now? I'm usually the one staring at a fridge of random ingredients with no plan, so starting from what's already in there fits how I'd actually use something like this. The no-signup part is probably what would get me to give it a shot on a random weeknight. Rooting for you.
Love that angle. "Start with what you've got" is way more useful than the usual recipe-app snoozefest. But I'm genuinely curious about that diversity filter — does it hit a hard reset once you've cleared the whole pantry pool, or does it banish older recipes to the shadow realm for a while before bringing them back? Because honestly, that's where most apps go to die — they turn into the culinary equivalent of a broken record, and repeat users end up eating the same five meals on a loop. So… what's the secret sauce here?
Pantry Roulette is a genuinely useful cooking tool that solves a common problem in a simple way: helping you decide what to cook with the ingredients you already have. Instead of suggesting recipes that require a long shopping list, it focuses on your real pantry and fridge, making meal planning much more practical. The multi-ingredient search works well, and the vibe filters add a fun touch without making the experience feel gimmicky. I also appreciate the smart recipe ranking, favorites, recently viewed history, and the ability to print complete recipes with measurements and step-by-step instructions. The clean interface, mobile-friendly design, and lack of ads or mandatory sign-up make the app fast and enjoyable to use. It's especially valuable for reducing food waste, saving money, and finding inspiration on busy weeknights. Overall, Pantry Roulette is a thoughtfully designed recipe finder that delivers on its promise of making everyday cooking easier and more convenient.
Hi, I just discovered your project on Fazier and I really like the direction you’re taking. I noticed a strong growth opportunity that could help you reach more targeted users, especially through Reddit community marketing, citation building, and strategic email outreach. Many brands are missing thousands of potential customers because their audience is already discussing their problems, looking for recommendations, and searching for solutions inside niche communities. I help businesses turn those conversations into brand visibility, trust, traffic, and qualified leads through authentic Reddit engagement and conversion-focused email strategies. I’d love to share a few growth ideas tailored specifically to your project. Best Regards, Olayinka Adeoye +1 479 739 7382 (WHATSAPP)
