Privacy-first voice typing for Mac, Windows & Linux 🎙️

Voice typing shouldn’t come with a privacy tax.

So we built Oravo.ai — a fast, accurate voice typing app that works anywhere you can type, without spying on you.

Your support helps an indie team compete with big, data-hungry incumbents.

Let your voice work for you — not for training someone else’s model.

Features

🔐 Privacy is the feature (not a footnote)

  • No model training on your data
  • No audio or transcript retention by default
  • Your voice stays yours — always

⚡ Why Oravo.ai?

  • 🧠 Type with your voice in any app (docs, emails, Slack, browsers—everywhere)
  • 🌍 Speak in your native language, get text in any language
  • 🖥️ Native apps for Mac, Windows, and Linux
  • 🚀 Low latency, developer-friendly, distraction-free
  • 💸 Way cheaper than enterprise dictation tools

We built Oravo because existing tools either:

  • compromise privacy,
  • lock you into one OS, or
  • cost a fortune for basic features.

Oravo is different.

Simple. Private. Cross-platform.

🙏 If you care about:

  • privacy-first AI
  • productivity without surveillance
  • or typing less and thinking more

We finally launched Oravo.ai today 🥹 — didn’t quit this time Today feels different. Not because everything worked — but because I didn’t stop. I’ve started products before that failed. Some because of bad timing. Some because I overcomplicated things. Some because I lost confidence halfway through. Oravo was built during moments when quitting felt easier than continuing. It’s a voice typing tool with real-time translation — speak Spanish, see English typed instantly while you talk. Simple idea, but surprisingly hard to get right. This launch reminded me that progress isn’t linear. Sometimes the win is just finishing what you started. If you’re building something and doubting yourself — I get it. Today I’m just choosing to be proud. Sharing the link for anyone curious: 👉 https://www.oravo.ai/

I was going to ask how different it is from MacWhisper, right then the real-time translation part really caught my eye!

This is exactly what the market needs! Privacy in voice-to-text tools is often overlooked. I love that you're offering cross-platform support (Mac, Windows, Linux) - most competitors lock you into a single ecosystem. The real-time translation feature is particularly clever - speaking one language and getting text in another opens up so many use cases for multilingual teams. Question: How does Oravo handle technical terminology or industry-specific jargon? That's usually where voice typing tools struggle.

Love this! Will explore and share feedback

This looks like a fantastic alternative for those of us who are tired of choosing between convenience and privacy. The cross-platform support (especially Linux!) is a major selling point, as native dictation tools are often fragmented across different operating systems. I particularly appreciate the ‘no model training’ stance—it’s a rare commitment in the current AI landscape. Excited to see how an indie team can shake up this space!
