Mappit

Every place has a story.

Visit

Earth's daily zeitgeist, on a time-aware map.

Breaking, corroborated stories from hundreds of cities — surfaced by frontier AI models, cross-checked across independent sources, and scoped to wherever you're looking: the world, your view, or your places. Overlays bring the planet to life: S&P 500 stocks at their real headquarters, Today in History, wildfires, earthquakes, and air quality.

Put yourself on the map — drop pins, plant your own user pin and let Follow Me keep it live as you move

Mappit Your product has strong potential, but I found a few key improvements that could make it even better. I'd love to share my feedback and suggestions—please contact me at [email protected].

Really impressive concept. I love how it combines breaking news with a geographic perspective instead of another endless feed. Being able to zoom from global stories down to what’s happening around specific cities, while layering in earthquakes, wildfires, markets, and air quality, makes the map feel genuinely useful. The Follow Me feature is a nice touch too — excited to see how this evolves!

The every-place-has-a-story framing is lovely — like a travel journal layer over the map. Is the story content user-generated, curated, or AI-assisted? Wondering how you keep quality high as the map fills in.

The idea of anchoring stories and notes to real places gives maps a whole new purpose. Is there a privacy mode for entries you only want visible to yourself or close friends?

Tying memories to locations instead of timelines is a fresh take. Could see this being great for travel vloggers mapping their shoots. Is offline mode on the roadmap for remote areas?

Mapping out ideas visually beats long docs for early product thinking. The infinite canvas approach with linked nodes is exactly how our team brainstorms. Any plans for real-time multiplayer editing?

We mapped out our baby name shortlist with a tool like this and it made the decision so much easier than a spreadsheet. Visual grouping just clicks for brainstorming. Any export options like PDF or image?
