👋 Hey Fazier!
I'm excited to share lwlnow, a web app built to help language learners improve their listening, vocabulary, and writing skills through dictation-based practice — a method that's simple, immersive, and surprisingly powerful.
🎯 Why we built it
Most language apps focus on passive learning or gamified memorization. But real fluency comes from training your brain to understand native speech and respond with precision.
Dictation is one of the most underrated yet effective ways to build these skills:
You listen to a native sentence
You type exactly what you hear
You get instant feedback on spelling, grammar, and word recognition
It’s like shadowing, but active — and it works incredibly well for learners at every level.
💬 Who is it for?
Learners who want to internalize grammar naturally
People struggling with listening comprehension
Students who want daily active practice
❤️ Feedback welcome!
We’re in early development and improving fast. I'd love your feedback:
What do you like?
What would you add/change?
Which languages should we support next?
Thanks for checking it out — and good luck with your language journey! 🙌

I'm excited to introduce lwlnow, a web app designed to help language learners sharpen their listening, vocabulary, and writing skills — using a method that’s simple, immersive, and proven to work: dictation. 🎯 Why We Built It Most language learning tools rely heavily on passive input or gamified memorization. While useful, these approaches often fall short when it comes to building true fluency — the kind that lets you understand native speakers and respond clearly, under pressure. Dictation changes that. With lwlnow, you: Listen to a native-level sentence Type exactly what you hear Receive instant feedback on grammar, spelling, and vocabulary recognition It’s an active process — like shadowing, but more deliberate — and ideal for internalizing grammar, improving listening accuracy, and building a more instinctive feel for the language. 💬 Who It’s For Learners who want to absorb grammar naturally Students aiming to improve real-world listening Anyone looking for daily, active language practice Whether you're at an A1 or C1 level, dictation scales with you — it forces your brain to engage with the language in context. ❤️ We’d Love Your Feedback lwlnow is still in early development, and we’re iterating quickly based on community input. 👉 What do you like so far? 👉 What would you improve or add? 👉 Which languages would you like to see next? Thanks for taking a look — and good luck on your language learning journey! — Yigit lwlnow.com
Have you had anyone test this and actually become fluent? To me it doesn't seem much different than the other language apps out there which you say "focus on passive learning or gamified memorization". I suppose I slightly disagree with that statement, but also don't see how this is much different. What I'm mainly wondering is have you proven this out with anyone yet?
