Long Take

One film for tonight, scored on your own ratings

Visit

Long Take picks one film for tonight instead of showing you another catalogue. You rate a few films you have already seen, and it predicts the score you would give a title you haven't, on your own scale rather than the crowd average. Every pick says how sure it is and why, drawn from your own ratings.

You can try it without an account. Movies and TV, around 20,000 titles, English and Polish. Built solo.

Hi, I'm Marcin and I built Long Take on my own. The idea is simple: a 7.8 on a ratings site tells you what everyone thinks, not what you'll think. So you rate films you've already seen, and the app guesses your score for ones you haven't, then picks one for tonight. It also tells you when it's unsure. It's early and has few users, so honest feedback helps a lot. Most useful would be: did the predicted score match what you'd actually give the film?
