We built JobNeatly after seeing too many contractors lose money on extra work that was agreed verbally and disputed later. The flow is simple on purpose: write the change, send the customer a link, they sign on their phone. Happy to answer questions and hear feedback.

Really practical idea! Scope creep is a common headache for contractors, and having signed approvals before starting extra work can prevent awkward payment disputes later. I like the freemium model, too — letting contractors try the approval workflow before committing makes sense. Curious whether you’re planning to add invoicing and payment collection as well!

Unsigned change orders are exactly where money disappears between the GC and the owner.

Tying the price to signed approvals, $9 each or $19 a month after three free, fits how a small crew gets paid for extra work better than a per-seat plan. I am wondering about the signature step on a phone: can the customer sign the change order there, and does the contractor get a copy that shows what was approved against the original estimate?

The pricing of three free approvals, then $9 each or $19 a month, makes sense for solo contractors who only occasionally need change orders. Does the signed approval produce a PDF record with a timestamp that the customer also receives automatically? That would make it far easier to defend an extra-work charge later.
