ftak is a free Chrome extension that helps you understand what you read without leaving the page. Select or double-click any word or phrase and a small tooltip shows its definition, a short Wikipedia-based summary for people, places and ideas, and an interactive map for locations. I built it as a solo founder for friends preparing for the UPSC exam, who kept switching tabs to look things up. No sign-up needed.

Hi Fazier! I built ftak for friends preparing for the UPSC exam. They read long editorials and reports every day and kept copying words into a new tab to look them up. ftak puts the meaning, a short Wikipedia summary and a map right next to the word you select. It's free and needs no sign-up. I'd love feedback on what else would help while reading.
