Hi Fazier! I built Freight Calculator Hub after watching small shippers wrestle with NMFC freight-class math on the dock. It is a set of free, mobile-first calculators — freight class, CBM, dimensional and chargeable weight, pallet loads — that show the working, not just the answer. No sign-up. Really nice application. My friend is in freight forwarding and shipment exporting. Definitely recommend it. But the watermark on the free version PDF is a bit too extreme; that's it.

Chargeable weight is one of those things that looks like one formula and is actually several, so a free calculator that gets it right is worth having. Does it handle the different volumetric divisors — air freight and sea LCL use different ones, and individual carriers publish their own. And does the NMFC density lookup account for pallet dimensions rather than just the item, since that's usually where a class gets bumped and the quote changes?

Showing the working is what makes this usable on a dock — people get burned when a quote used a different dim divisor than the one they assumed. If chargeable weight lets you pick the carrier divisor (air 166 vs 139, ocean 1:1000 vs 1:363) instead of one default, it stays a check rather than a wrong booking. Density-only NMFC class also misses packaging: a dense item on a half-empty pallet still ships at the pallet's density.
