Hi Fazier community! I'm Dave Cotter, founder of Founder Academy. After years at PwC and investing in startups through Kelsor Ventures, I noticed talented founders struggling with fundraising — not because their ideas were bad, but because no one taught them how the process actually works from the investor's side. Founder Academy offers stage-specific courses that walk you through raising capital from pre-seed to Series A. Would love your feedback!

Love this concept! Fundraising is often the biggest hurdle for new startups, and taking the guesswork out of it is huge. Getting structured, stage-specific advice directly from a seasoned VC like Dave Cotter seems well worth the investment. Great addition to the founder toolkit!

This looks genuinely valuable for early-stage founders trying to shortcut years of trial and error. The founder-first approach and real-world insights stand out immediately. One thing I’d love to know more about: how do you balance tactical startup guidance with community/networking opportunities inside the academy? Feels like the peer learning aspect could become a huge differentiator here.

It's really hard to raise money, so it's a good idea I think

I like the positioning around getting unstuck on one specific technical problem instead of offering generic interview prep. Live 1:1 help from senior engineers could be especially valuable for RAG debugging, system design, or LeetCode issues where tutorials don’t cover the exact blocker. Curious whether sessions are matched by specialty, like AI infra, backend, or interview prep.

That would be cool, to get a real perspective of your startup from another founders

Curious how the stage-specific part works in practice. A pre-seed founder at $0 ARR and a Series A founder at $50K MRR have wildly different fundraising playbooks - does each course explicitly map to a stage gate (first check, traction round, Series A) or is it more topical?

Interesting idea. Curious how practical the advice gets beyond the usual startup theory stuff.

it would ne nice to get a pre seed round for 9mind.space from here. do you support astrology startups?
