The receipt side is harder than it looks and I think it's the real moat here if you get it right. Retailers truncate line items to short abbreviations, so OCR accuracy is rarely the bottleneck, resolving something like GV WHT BRD 20OZ to an actual product is. Worth knowing whether you're doing that per retailer with learned abbreviation maps or trying to stay generic, because the generic version tends to fall apart on store brands. The other thing I'd flag is that the same chain often prices differently by store format and region, so a crowdsourced average can tell someone they overpaid when they paid their own store's normal shelf price. Scoping the comparison to nearby stores of a similar format would make the did I overpay answer much more defensible.
