agent-cross-check

Claude audits another coding agent's commits before you push

Visit

I build with two coding agents. One writes code, Claude reviews it. In one week, three of the writer's reports didn't match the code: "all 46 tests passed" was 45 passed and 1 failed; a report named files that didn't exist; a video "with fixed audio" had no audio track.

agent-cross-check is a free Claude Code mod that notices commits made by another agent, checks them mechanically, asks Claude to audit by diff and tests, and holds git push until the review is marked done.

Runs only read-only git commands. Sends nothing over the network. MIT.

Features

  • Notices commits whose message lacks your marker (by default Co-Authored-By: Claude) and shows how many are waiting
  • Mechanical checks: line-ending churn, secret-looking strings in added lines, committed dotenv files
  • Checks the report against the real files: paths it names that don't exist, videos with no audio track
  • /cross-check hands Claude the list: audit by diff and tests, report only, never revert
  • Holds git push while another agent's commits are not marked reviewed

Use Cases

You run two coding agents on one repo and want the reviewer to actually check the writer's work

You let an agent commit while you are away and want a review before anything is pushed

You want a second, mechanical look for secrets in another agent's commits

Hi Fazier! I'm Nao. I build with two coding agents: one writes code, Claude reviews it. The writer commits under the same git name and writes confident reports, and in one week three of those reports didn't match the code. Reviews only happened when I happened to notice the commits, so I made Claude notice them. Running its checks on today's commits picked out 4 from the other agent. The mechanical checks were clean, and Claude's audit by diff and tests still found one bug the report didn't mention. It's free and MIT. How do you check the work of your coding agents?
