Active Recalling

Turn notes & PDFs into AI flashcards, quizzes and mind maps

Visit

Active Recalling turns your study material into practice you actually remember. Upload a PDF, Word doc, image or web article, or paste your notes, and it generates multiple-choice quizzes, flip-style flashcards and interactive mind maps, organized into folders and chapters. It is built on two of the best-researched study techniques: active recall (testing yourself instead of re-reading) and spaced repetition (reviewing at expanding intervals). You can also explain a chapter in your own words with Feynman practice and see which ideas you missed. The free plan includes 1 folder and 2 chapters; Pro unlocks unlimited folders and chapters for $3.99/month.

Comments

I built Active Recalling to make testing yourself the default way to study, not an extra chore. Research consistently shows retrieval practice beats re-reading, but writing your own flashcards and quizzes takes so long that most people skip it. So the app does that part: add a PDF, doc, article or your notes, and each chapter gets a multiple-choice quiz, flashcards and a mind map. There's also Feynman practice, where you explain the chapter in your own words and see what you left out. The free plan covers 1 folder and 2 chapters. I'd really value feedback on the quality of the generated questions and on what you'd want to see next.
