Activ.run

Gym + running tracker I built to hold myself accountable

Visit

Most fitness apps make you pick a lane: gym tracking or running, rarely both, and usually with your own workout history locked behind a paywall. Activ.run does both from one app — GPS run tracking, strength training logs, and wearable sync via Health Connect — completely free, no subscription wall.

Features

Gym Workout Tracking

Log strength training sessions with full exercise history — sets, reps, weight, and progression over time, without hitting a paywall to see your own past workouts.

GPS Running Tracking

Track runs using phone-native GPS, accelerometer, and gyroscope — no wearable required. Live pace, distance, and route mapping built in from day one.

Voice Coaching While You Run

Configurable audio cues through your earphones — pace, distance, and lap splits announced on a schedule you control, so you don't need to check your phone mid-run.

Wearable & Device Sync

Integrations with GPS sports watches (COROS live, Polar and Suunto in progress) plus Health Connect as a fallback, so your data shows up in Activ.run regardless of which brand you wear.

No Duplicate Data, One Unified History

Smart merge logic across every data source means a run logged by your watch and your phone never shows up twice — one clean training history no matter how you tracked it.

Free, No Subscription Wall

Core tracking — gym logging, GPS running, workout history — isn't locked behind a paywall. Track your training without paying to see your own data.

Use Cases

The hybrid athlete who lifts and runs

For people who train both ways and are tired of switching between two separate apps — one for the gym, one for running — just to cover a single week of training.

Runners without a GPS watch yet

For anyone who wants real pace and distance tracking but hasn't bought a sports watch — Activ.run tracks runs using just the phone, no hardware purchase required to start.

Athletes with a GPS watch who want unified logging

For COROS, Polar, or Suunto users (or anyone syncing through Health Connect) who want their gym sessions and watch-tracked runs living in the same history, not split across apps.

Recreational athletes rebuilding a training habit

For anyone getting back into consistent training and wanting a simple, unified log to build momentum and see progress across both strength and cardio without complexity.

Budget-conscious trainees

For people who want serious tracking features without a monthly subscription — especially relevant in markets like Indonesia, where recurring USD-priced app subscriptions are a real barrier.

Hey everyone 👋 Quick background on why this exists: I went through about 6 months of just not being able to get myself to the gym. Not injured, not busy, just no motivation. What actually got me moving again was accountability — tracking every session, seeing the log build up, not wanting to break the streak. So I built Activ.run, originally just as a gym tracker for myself. Once I got back into training, I started running too, but I didn't have a GPS watch or any wearable yet — I just wanted to see my pace and distance somehow. So I added GPS running tracking straight into the app using the phone's own sensors, no watch required. That's the core of it now: gym logging + GPS running tracking, in one place, free, no subscription wall on your own data. Android only for now (iOS is coming once I get access to a Mac). Would love to hear from anyone who's dealt with motivation dips like I did, or anyone who tracks both lifting and running and has opinions on what's missing. Happy to answer anything about the build too — I've been doing this mostly solo.
