Eddie Kohley

Eddie Kohley's life can be understood through five settings: the Marine Corps, the wrestling room, the wider community, his working life, and the outdoors with his family. He lives in Saint Charles, Illinois, and is a decorated combat infantry veteran of the Marine Corps, a mentor, a coach, and a father. Leadership, service, and a commitment to investing in others surface in each one of those settings. Each setting is described here on its own terms. In the Marine Corps, Eddie Kohley served in the infantry, where his role as squad leader put him in charge of a squad of fellow Marines. He went into combat in Sangin, Afghanistan. There, his work included training and patrolling with CIA agents. Across his service, he also trained and went on patrols with assorted military forces in places all over the map, and he served in locations that included South Korea, Thailand, and Japan. Sergeant with the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines was his rank when he left the Corps.
