Hey Fazier community! I built Tabreon because I was tired of "free" online tools that make you upload a file to a mystery server or sit through ads for a basic conversion. Most of Tabreon's 55+ tools run entirely in your browser — nothing leaves your device. Would love feedback on which tool category to build out next!
Naming the three conversions that do hit a server — HEIC, TIFF, SVG — is the detail that makes the client-side claim believable. Most tools in this category say "private, in your browser" and quietly leave out the exceptions, so stating them on the page is worth more than the claim itself. Is that disclosure shown on the tool page before you upload, or only in the docs?
The client-side-by-default approach with the three server-side conversions explicitly disclosed is exactly how these tools should be built. I use a JSON formatter and PDF merge almost weekly and every alternative either wants an account or quietly uploads your file. On which tool to build next: a solid image format converter (HEIC especially, since iPhone photos keep breaking uploads) would fill the gap where you currently need the server.
