Like many indie hackers and solo developers, I got tired of the current launch landscape. When you build a micro-SaaS, you usually face a few bad options to get your first users: submitting your project to "free" directories only to hit an artificial multi-month wait designed to force a $99 "fast-track" pass, getting buried on oversaturated traditional launchpads like Product Hunt, or falling into this new trend of bid leaderboards with insane auction systems scaling into thousands of dollars—where your bid (and the board itself) dies in no time. Nobody gives a damn about your product, period. I built SpotMy.app to eliminate the cold-start launch nightmare and offer a fair, transparent alternative to predatory launchpads and spammy backlink farms. Here's what it is: SpotMy.app is a simple launch and discovery platform built on a transparent rotation architecture. It may look like just another bidding leaderboard, but instead of letting high-budget players buy permanent top spots or bid everyone else out of visibility, every project gets a guaranteed 10-minute live window directly on the front page. How it works: During your assigned 10-minute window, the main homepage showcase section is entirely reserved for your application to maximize visitor focus. After your 10 minutes, you remain permanently indexed in the past spotlight section, get your backlink, dedicated page, and everything else you'd expect. 10 minutes might seem short, but it's designed to keep things fair and ensure exposure for everyone. Exposure priority is handled by an open queue algorithm. Money can’t buy permanent favoritism, everyone gets the same live window. The fun part is that the Spotlight isn't a one-time gimmick: founders can re-enter the queue whenever they want to trigger recurring traffic spikes as they release updates or simply want to jump back to the top, managed by balanced cooldown timers and transparent priority skip options. Also, if the queue happens to be empty after a 10-minute turn, the platform randomly pulls a project from the indexed list to showcase on the homepage on rotation. The idea is to give micro-projects without massive marketing budgets or email lists a clean, level playing field to test audience engagement, measure traffic response, and validate product interest in record time. Of course, it needs traffic. Without active visitors, the classic chicken-and-egg problem is hard to break.
